About Attorney O. Reginald “Reggie” Osenton

Experience

Reggie is an attorney with over 37 years of experience in a wide range of legal matters. He is currently admitted to practicing law in Florida and West Virginia. A native of Man, West Virginia, Reggie graduated with his juris doctor degree from George Washington University, a Top 20 law school. After graduation, Reggie served as a senior tax consultation for a major accounting firm and a managing partner of a firm in West Virginia. He relocated to Florida, where he served at other law firms before establishing his own practice, Osenton Law Group Offices, P.A., in 2008. After a brief break between 2016 and 2018 serving as the City Attorney for the City of Port St. Lucie, he reestablished his firm in Tampa, FL. Reggie has been a mayor, a member of the State Bar’s Board of Governors, a Paul Harris Fellow, a president of the Logan Rotary Club, an Eagle Scout, and has had many other roles throughout his lifetime and career!

Personal 

Reggie’s hobbies include scuba diving, golfing badly, flying (a licensed pilot), and the Tampa Bay Lightning.  Perhaps an unusual trait for an attorney, Reggie loves muscle cars, is the President of the Brandon/Valrico Mustang Enthusiasts, and is an avid follower of NASCAR who attends several races annually. He is a graduate of Leadership Brandon, and is a member of Bay Life Church in Brandon. Reggie resides in Valrico with his wife, Annie, and they have five adult daughters, a guardian angel son, and three (and counting) grandchildren.

About Attorney Samuel L. Wenzel, Jr.

Samuel L. Wenzel

Sam Wenzel handles the production of estate plans and probate litigation for Osenton Law Group.

Prior to joining Osenton Law Group, Sam set up his own practice where he previously handled civil litigation, and appellate matters. Sam’s former criminal litigation practice encompassed both state and federal law. Sam’s civil litigation practice focused on Estate Planning, Personal Injury claims, Federal Administrative Law concerning Veterans Law, and Real Property Law, specifically statewide Landlord/Tenant disputes. Sam is accredited by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (“VA”) to handle VA Disability Compensation appeals on behalf of veterans seeking service-connected disability benefits.

Prior to running his own practice, Sam worked at the Florida Second District Court of Appeal in Tampa, where he served as an appellate law clerk for The Honorable Susan Rothstein-Youakim. Sam also served as a trial court law clerk for the Florida Fourteenth Circuit Court in Panama City, where he worked on civil matters, including civil appeals from administrative and municipal boards, code enforcement, and county court for several judges across six counties. Sam also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Florida Gulf Coast University where he teaches courses titled Issues in International Justice, Globalization and the Rule of Law, and Comparative Justice.

Sam attended two prestigious law schools, both The Howard University School of Law and The George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C. During law school, Sam earned a position on the International Law in Domestic Courts Journal at GW and while at Howard he was selected for a competitive 12-week summer clerkship at the United States District Court for the District of Columbia with The Honorable James E. Boasberg.

Before becoming an attorney, Sam was a decorated military policeman in the United States Army. Sam served two tours of duty in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and safely led his soldiers on hundreds of combat patrols. During this time, Sam was responsible for the serviceability and accountability of millions of dollars’ worth of sensitive items, weapons, and equipment.

Today, Sam’s primary professional interest is assisting individuals and businesses seeking assistance ensuring protection of their assets. On a personal note, Sam enjoys spending time with his wife and children, reading, and taking his family to Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tampa Bay Lightning games.
